iMormon – Faith in Christ
A discussion about Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day SaintsArchive for God
If a man die, shall he live again?
Amidst his arduous trials, Job asked, “If a man die, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14). He looked forward to the Lord calling him from grave; his faith in the resurrection was sure. He testified to all of us, “Though this body be destroyed, yet in my flesh shall I see God.” (Job 19:26). My Heavenly Father’s existence was a no-brainer. It should come as no surprise that I did not hesitate to accept the scriptures’ testimony that Jesus of Nazareth is the literal Son of God the Father—my Heavenly Father. Not only did Christ acknowledge this paternal relationship several times by referring to His Father in his teachings and directing His prayers to His Father, but Heavenly Father bore witness of the Savior, claiming Jesus as His son, when Christ was baptized (Matthew 3:17) and again when the Lord was transfigured before Peter, James and John (Matthew 17:5).
